-again, thanks flickr.com-

It’s that time of year again to bust out the face paint, pretend that you can drink and make bad decisions. Grab that one green shirt you own, drink a few Guinness while you follow us on an adventure around Portland. The following locations are some of the best places I’ve found around the city for seeing Leprechauns. Luckily for us, pdxpipeline gave us the inside scoop on the Patty’s day poop…

North Portland Pick: Killingsworth’s St. Patty’s Crawl

4pm-close: Celebrate the luck of the Irish and hit up Killingsworth’s finest!  A token buys you green beer, wine or housemade yummy soup at Saraveza.  You can also turn your tokens in at the Red Fox (Irish Stew, St. Patty’s Drink Special), Ducketts Public House (Well Cocktail, Draft Beer, Appetizer), Eddie’s Flat Iron Pizza (Draft Beer, Slice of Pizza, House Salad), Hop & Vine (Paddy’s Girl Shot, Guinness, Irish Sausage Roll), Beaterville Bar (Green Salad, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Draft Beer), Sagittarius (Chips & Salsa, Draft Beer, Well Cocktail) or Yorgo’s (Hummus Plate, Draft Beer, Well Cocktail).

NW Portland Pick: North 45

Our famous neighborhood party will carry on once again this year. North 45 St. Patrick’s Day is the party for all the neighborhood locals. This year we’ve extended our tent hours to midnight and the pub until 2am. We’ll also have live music by the Robbie Laws Trio starting around 6pm. As usual, we’ll have lot’s of great Irish food & drink specials and the occasional bagpiper. Party starts at 4pm. $5 cover. Portion of the proceeds benefits the OSU Foundation.

SW Portland: Kell’s Irish Pub

People travel far and wide to attend Kells St. Patrick’s Irish Festival, now a favorite Portland tradition, thanks to jam-packed days of music, entertainment, food and frivolity. Traditional foods will be served all day throughout the festival, in the restaurant, festival ten and upstairs banquet rooms with fantastic live Irish music every day! It’s always the must-see event of the season and there’s something for everyone! On Saturday & Sunday, kids and family events are free all day! (Fact Sheet)

SW Portland #2: Paddy’s Pub

Join Paddy’s on Wednesday, March 17th for our St. Patrick’s Day Festival. We close down the street and cover the entire parking lot with our event tents. Irish food & drink specials throughout the day. The main stage features 5 live bands, Irish Dancers, & Bagpipers (see entertainment schedule below). The tent and pub open for lunch at 11am. Come early to buy your raffle ticket to win a trip for two to Ireland.
