Welly, welly, well Portland. It is beer thirty in SM world and for me my money is well spent in my own little neighborhood. Migration (28th and Glisan) hit one out of the park, and the cars keep lining the street. Maybe it’s the buzz from yours truly or maybe it’s the fact that Portland is beer crazy, but I’d like to think that this little brewery in the heart of the NE is the reason for the season. You walk into this place, and the sound of old soul, the smell of fresh cut pine and hops melts the Wednesday blues right off this man’s mind. Grab a hot sandwich, a bowl of peanuts, a nice MPA (Migration’s flagship) or one of their many local rare beers (They just got a Blonde and an IPA from Cascade I’ve never even heard of). Check it…
The MPA (Migration Pale Ale) is delicious. So friendly. If you’re a hop head, you got it. If you’re a Pale Ale man, you got it. If you’re a wheat drinker, you got it. The beer is hoppy, subtle in its fruit tones, smooth and rich. At first sip I was like, motherf*#k, it’s boring, but the character of the beer hits from the back of the palatte forward. I talked with Colin yesterday a little about the future of Migration brewing… and there are rumors of a cream ale coming up before summer. If it’s anything like the MPA, in integrity to the label and character of the beer, I’m down. Good job Mike and keep up the good work Migration!!

We must have the same palette (no matter how I spell that, it looks wrong), because that’s pretty much exactly what I thought. Still working on my first one…
