The New Decemberists Video Is Great, Unembedable

The new Decemberists album came out today. After listening to it maybe a thousand million times on NPR’s podcast over the past month, I bought it. It’s great, and that’s coming from someone who always thought the Decmeberists were more hit-and-miss than I’d care for a band to be. I guess that’s the thing with a band that has written a few concept albums – they either really succeed, like The Crane Wife, or they really fail, like Hazards of Love. Anyway, this record is fantastic, and the equally fantastic Autumn de Wilde shot thousands of Polaroids of the band during recording sessions. Those photos have been made into a music video for the song Down By The Water, which is also really fucking awesome, except you CAN’T GODDAMN EMBED IT, those bastards. Anyway, go buy the record. Don’t be fucking cheap.

Oh, yeah. The name of the album is, “The King Is Dead.” Ugh, facts!

really? I thought Hazards was a great LP. Better than The King is Dead… Although, maybe not better than the Crane Wife. I don’t like the new LP because I think its too “Bob Dylan / Neil Young” or too much harmonica. Why don’t you like Hazards?
