Portland Has No Thugs, Talent Agency Reports

What’s with you people? A big fancy talent agency comes to town looking for “thugs” to play extras in the TNT swill drama “Leverage,” and apparently none of you people have what it takes. That’s not gangster!

These are the facts as we know them: The agency, Lana Veenker Casting, is looking for hardcore street thugs to play “background, stunt and small principal roles on the show…including a Thug Boot Camp.” There is also a Thug Informational Meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. at the White Stag Tonight.

For fuck’s sake. All they want are people who can do a convincing hardcore, gangster street thug. What’s so hard about that? But alas. KGW reports:

Extras who have auditioned thus far just don’t have any street cred, agents with Lana Veenker Casting said.

You hear that, Portland? Some fucking hack from a talent agency things you don’t have enough “street cred” to be an extra in their terrible show, so they’re putting on some informational meeting where they’ll probably explain what attire and other physical attributes are required to perform a “street thug” role on cable television.

It all sounds so horrifying. Maybe we should liveblog it. Maybe we should AUDITION?
